Survivors include: two sons, Roland (Sherrille) Parrott of Lebanon and James Anthony (Marcia) Parrott of Ohio; two daughters, Cheryl (Thomas) Smith of Lexington and Jacqueline (Norman) Parrott-Moore of Tennessee; one brother, William Lee Durrett of Michigan; three sisters, Emma Edelen of Springfield, Mary Justine Parrott-Allen of Campbellsville, and Martha Jean Grady of Louisville; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Father George officiated.

.General Notes: .Leslie "Keith" Parrott was born on July 5, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Thomas and Ethel Parrott. Keith attended St. Rita's Catholic School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In July of 1973, Thomas and Ethel relocated their family to Kansas City, Missouri where Keith then attended Northeast Catholic Consolidated School and later graduated from East High School in 1979.

In 1982, Keith enlisted in the Army Reserve where he studied Culinary Arts which became his passion. He served in the Army for ten years. During which time he joined hin holy matrimony with Marita Shackelford on December 31, 1983. He affectionately loved her daughter, Aletrice Jacoway, as his own. To their union, two children were born, Leslie René and Mario Keith Parrott. He also helped raise two nieces, Adriane and Amanda Shackleford.

Keith continued to fulfill his passion in several local restaurants, bars, and grills. He traded in his hats in different fields, and always returned to his passion. In 2008, he retired as his health declined.

Keith was affectionately known as, "Papa," by his ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Their PaPa was the "Greatest" to them, and they meant the world to him.

Keith departed this life on Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home. His parents, Thomas and Ethel Parrott, and siblings, Brenda and Gregory Parrott, all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marita Parrott; children, Leslie Parrott, Mario Parrott, and Aletrice Jacoway; two sisters; Cathy Johnson (Eldon) an Tammi Parrott; aunt, Rita Beatty; mother in-law, Aletrice Shackelford; sisters in-law, Kandi McGinnie, Phyllies Hampton, and Stacey Shackelfort and a host of nephes, nieces, cousins, and other family and friends.
